MATLAB Mobile for Android

MATLAB Mobile for Android was the first mobile app I ever designed, and I was incredibly fortunate to have a significant amount of control over the project. It was released in October 2012 and has been reviewed over 4,000 times.

The visual design of MATLAB Mobile for Android was evolved from the iOS app and the Mathworks website. In order to create a fluid experience for Android users, the app applied the pre-Material Android design guidelines, yet remained visually similar to other Mathworks products.

The design process was iterative and involved a good deal of collaboration with the Android developer. With input from the MATLAB Mobile team and an interaction designer, the Android developer and I were able to design, mock, and implement the app within a relatively short timeframe.
